When President Donald J. Trump stood before a joint session of Congress earlier this year to declare Alaska LNG a national priority, he sent a strong signal that America once again acted boldly to unleash the full power of its energy potential. If his administration can follow that vision and continue to move at the speed that has defined his second term so far, the Alaska LNG Pipeline will be one of the decisive achievements of his presidency. By the end of President Trump's second term, Alaska LNG was a project that was once considered an unlikely long shot, but it supports key Alaska military bases in Alaska, as well as Asian ally in the Pacific, American consumers in Alaska, and sends energy out of the ground.
The proposed pipeline extends over 800 miles from the north slope to the southern coast of Alaska, a strategic masterstroke. It accurately reflects what President Trump's administration is. We will prioritize American work and strengthen our country on the world stage. When it's up and running, the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC) estimates that the pipeline can carry 3.5 billion cubic feet per day. Looking at it, this one project can produce almost all the natural gas that Russia exports to the world.
This is more than just a theoretical dream. Alaska LNG has already overcome the bureaucratic, legal red tape, which is usually the most time-consuming part of the process, securing permissions and beating every legal challenge. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleevee recently held talks in Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea and Japan, and has already begun securing commitments from these potential customers. According to Governor Dunleavy, the goal is to have the pipeline installed in two and a half years and gas flowing.

As soon as the project becomes operational, Alaskan LNG will serve Alaskans. For a long time, Alaska has been sitting in the ocean of energy potential without infrastructure to achieve its full value. The Alaska LNG Pipeline will change that, bringing much needed revenue for states that have been economically sidelined by billions of investments, tens of thousands of jobs, and DC bureaucrats and Green Agenda Zealots. For rural communities otherwise forced to rely on imported fuels, the pipeline promises real energy security with affordable and reliable power for families and businesses.
But the benefits don't stop at the Alaska border. While lowering global energy prices, this massive project will boost US exports and create a major dent in the trade deficit. The Alaska LNG Pipeline will provide the US with a powerful new lever, particularly in the global energy market in the Asia-Pacific region. Our allies (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan) are all energy-hungry countries with a growing appetite for natural gas. Instead of resorting to being at the mercy of Russian and Middle Eastern exporters, they can turn to the US and Alaska.

That dynamic gives the US a strategic advantage in competition with China. For years, Beijing has used key industry and energy investment controls to bully small countries and manipulate global markets. The Alaska LNG Pipeline is a direct counter punch. By providing reliable American energy to our Chinese neighbors, we reduce our dependence on CCP and strengthen our geopolitical balance. President Trump understands that Alaska's energy will enhance leverage and security in our country. At home, President Trump not only lowers energy prices, but also secures a vision for energy independence. The US will not plead with OPEC for oil or spike gas prices due to international turmoil.
The cynician and suspect have been throwing cold water on the Alaska LNG project for a long time. But President Trump understands what our country can do and once again can prove they are wrong. If his administration leaders continue to prioritize the project, like Secretary of Interior Doug Burgham, the secretary of Interior, continue to prioritize the project, the Alaska LNG Pipeline will be built and pumped before the end of his current term. It's not just a victory, it's a great legacy achievement for the president. The Alaska LNG Project is a huge, bold project that only a leader like Trump can offer. It would be appropriate for President Trump to serve as its groundbreaking chairman before his term ends.
