President-elect Trump returned to Washington on Saturday night aboard an Air Force special mission plane for his historic return after a four-year hiatus.
President Trump, first lady Melania Trump, and their youngest son Barron departed from West Palm Beach, Florida, on a trip to the nation's capital, waving to the crowd as they climbed the stairs.
President Trump marked his return to power with a celebration at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, about 30 miles outside Washington.
Addressing the crowd, he praised Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and declared Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff a “great negotiator.” Witkoff last week helped negotiate a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas that is scheduled to go into effect on Sunday.
Immediately after his remarks, President Trump stepped out onto the clubhouse balcony, while guests gathered on the patio below him to watch a fireworks display and a performance by tenor Christopher Macchio.

Hours earlier, President Trump and his family arrived in Sterling, Virginia, where they met with Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, First Lady Suzanne Youngkin and others at Trump National Golf Club.
Yonkin welcomed the president-elect and first lady Melania Trump at the club and presented them with grand gifts.

A photo of the Trumps and Youngkins posted to X around 8 p.m. captured the exchange.
The Trumps will host an evening reception and fireworks show later in the evening.
Trump's daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner also joined the president-elect on his visit.
President Trump's second son Eric and daughter-in-law Lara departed separately from Florida on the president-elect's private plane.
While on the plane, Eric Trump met with X and shared “new hope and spirit for the country.”

His immediate family, including his wife Lara and children Luke and Carolina, also accompanied him on the trip to Washington, DC.
Eric Trump wrote that “[his]entire fight was for the future of his children and their generation.”
“This time America won,” he added.
“Against all odds, we did it with the great people of this country and the greatest political movement in history,” Eric Trump wrote. “There is no one I am more proud of than (Donald Trump). He stood firm and had courage of steel. Our country is in great hands. The madness is over. America is in a time of rebirth. ”

On Sunday, President Trump will attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery and a “Make America Great Again” rally, followed by a candlelit dinner.
The inauguration will be held at noon Monday in the Capitol Rotunda due to the frigid weather forecast. Afterwards, Trump, the second president in history to be elected non-consecutively, is scheduled to deliver his inaugural address.

On Saturday, hours before the Trump family boarded the plane, thousands of protesters took to the streets of Washington, D.C., to protest.
The People's March was originally called the Women's March and had three meeting locations, each championing a different cause.
Some topics included “gender justice,” democracy and immigration, and local issues in Washington.

Demonstrators held posters that read “feminists vs. fascists” and “people over politics,” Fox News Digital reported.
