The Big Ten added four more big programs to the conference this year.
USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon will all join the Big Ten for the first time in 2024, shaping some fierce cross country football competition.
Former Purdue Boilermarks running back and current Miami Dolphins star Raheem Mostert told Fox News Digital that the new conference structure has him thinking about what opponents would be like if he were playing in the conference today. Mostert originally played four seasons at Purdue from 2011-2014.
“There would have been a lot of spotlights on it,” Mostert said. “It definitely would have been fun to get the opportunity to play at Oregon.”

Mostert also emphasized that Oregon's partnership with Nike, and Nike's famous collection of alternate uniforms, will bring a strong fashion focus to any game he plays in Eugene.
“It's an important color, especially with what Nike is doing,” he said.
Deion Sanders' Colorado football team received one vote in the season's first AP Top 25 poll.

Mostert and Purdue would have contrasted Oregon's bright neon green and yellow with the school's basic black and gold, but Mostert missed out on that opportunity after just a few years, coming to Purdue in 2011. The two teams last met in 2008 and 2009, splitting that series in two closely fought games.
However, the matchup will return to West Lafayette, Indiana on October 18th of this year, and the contrasting uniform colors will be on full display during the primetime game on Fox.

Coach Mostert is once again donning Purdue's classic black and gold uniforms this year and has partnered with College Licensing Company to promote the College Colors Day campaign, encouraging Americans to show off their collegiate spirit by donning their college uniforms and celebrating the unofficial start of college football.
College Colours Day falls on August 30th this year, marking its 20th anniversary.
“I love rooting for the good ol' gold and black and we have a head coach this year that I'm excited about, he's a guy with a lot of potential,” Mostert said of second-year Purdue head coach Ryan Walters.
