Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis has not made any midseason decisions, including first-year head coach Mark Davis, despite being dissatisfied with his team's 2-11 record. That includes whether coach Antonio Pierce will return next season.
At the NFL league's annual meeting on Wednesday, Davis declined to comment specifically on whether Pierce, who is in his first year as head coach after serving as interim coach last season, will return for the 2025 season.

The refusal to give a vote of confidence speaks volumes.
Pierce is only in his first full year as an NFL coach, but has been with the NFL since 2022. He was named interim head coach in October after Josh McDaniels was fired last season. He immediately tried to change the situation, benching Jimmy Garoppolo in favor of Aidan O'Connell.
The Raiders finished that season in second place in the division, with Pierce posting a 5-4 record. He was named the team's new head coach earlier this year, but the Raiders have struggled during his tenure, going 2-11 with a nine-game losing streak.

But Davis said Wednesday that he takes responsibility for this season, including for hiring the decision-makers.
“Obviously I'm very disappointed. I want to see progress,” he said, via The Athletic. “There are no excuses. We have injuries and other things, but the team has to figure out how to work around those problems. “At the end of the day, it comes down to me. If there's anything to be done, it should be to me, because again, I'm the one hiring the people who are making the decisions on the ground.”

Davis added that it's a “misconception” that he makes decisions on the field.
“I let the people I hire do their jobs. I give them goals. And I get out of the way and let them do it and let the results speak for themselves. At this point, obviously We are not satisfied. But we will have to reevaluate after the season, but at the moment we are not in a position to evaluate the future.”
