Republican lawmakers and leaders expressed support for Israel after the Jewish state launched retaliatory strikes against Iran after the Islamic Republic launched a barrage of missiles earlier this month.
“America stands with Israel,” former Vice President Mike Pence wrote on the X-Post.
Sen. Tim Scott (RS.C.) echoed Pence's sentiments, calling Israel “a great ally of ours.”

“America continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with our great ally Israel in the face of terrorism,” he wrote.
“America stands with Israel,” Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) wrote.

Other lawmakers also expressed support for the Israeli military “defending against the evil Iranian regime” on social media.
“Israel has leaked its plans to protect itself from the evil Iranian regime over the past year and decades of vicious attacks,” said Sen. Rick Scott, R-S.C. “They have only been emboldened by the weak Biden-Harris administration.” Florida State wrote. “The United States must stand with Israel today and in the future.”
“Iran is now on the 'find out' side of the equation. I support Israel,” wrote former state Rep. Tim Whelan (R-Mass.). “May God Almighty protect the IAF and IDF.”

The Republican reaction came after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that it was conducting “precision strikes against Iranian military targets.”
“The Iranian regime and its proxies in the region have relentlessly attacked Israel on seven fronts since October 7, including direct attacks from mainland Iran,” the IDF said in a statement.

“Like any other sovereign nation in the world, the State of Israel has the right and obligation to respond. Our defense and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized. I’ll do anything.”
