Saquon Barkley's magical 2024 season with the Philadelphia Eagles continued Sunday as he became the ninth player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Barkley had 167 yards on 31 carries in a 41-7 win over the Cowboys that clinched the NFC East title for Philadelphia, giving him 2,005 rushing yards on the season.
Barkley reached a milestone in the fourth quarter with a 23-yard run into Dallas territory for a total of 167 yards.

Now, the question is, will the Eagles, who have already clinched a playoff berth, allow Barkley to go after Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record (2,105) in Week 18 against the former New York Giants?
It's normal for teams to rest starters, but for Barkley, all-time history is at stake, and head coach Nick Sirianni's decisions will be closely watched throughout this week.

Barkley already had 176 yards earlier this season in his long-awaited return to MetLife Stadium, the place he called home for the past six seasons before joining Philadelphia this offseason.
The choice to go south on Interstate 95 proved to be a wise choice for Berkeley. Barkley is one of the frontrunners for Offensive Player of the Year given his epic rushing totals with the potential to make even more history.
Barkley has 13 rushing touchdowns, two through touchdowns, and 276 receiving yards on 31 receptions this year.

Barkley's previous career high in rushing yards was 1,312 in 2022, the year he helped lead the team back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season. And he did it behind a below-average Giants offensive line.
But he's been a part of the Eagles' front office all season, and it was certainly needed after Jalen Hurts missed the game against the Cowboys due to a concussion he suffered last week.
But despite giving his all on Sunday, Barkley didn't get his reward. Instead, DeVonta Smith scored two passing touchdowns, one from starter Kenny Pickett, the other from Tanner McKee, who replaced Pickett after his injury, and AJ Brown. He added one himself.
Pickett was also pushed into the end zone during the Eagles' dominant performance.

At 13-3, the Eagles are poised to make another Super Bowl run, but there's probably more history behind No. 26's stellar performance in 2024.
