Scotty Schaeffler always looks comfortable on the golf course, but this week at CJ Cup Byron Nelson's hometown of TPC Craig Ranch, it was pure bliss.
Schaeffler crushed the competition in the four-day event with a 31-under finish and won the event after posting another 8-under 63, the same result that took the scorecard on Friday.
However, he finished 32 under after seeing birdie putts on Sunday's 18th Green. Only Justin Thomas (2017) and Rudig Ã…berg (2023) have spent 31 weeks in the past.

Schaeffler, who had a 10-shot lead at one point in this tournament, almost missed the history-making putt, was tapped for par to collect victory, earning a salary of $1,782,000.
However, his eight-shot victory was the biggest win ever in the tournament, so he made some history.
Schaeffler is the first Dallas Regional High School alumni to win by Byron Nelson since 2007, and he got off to a red-hot start when he posted a 10-under 61 in the opening round on Thursday. He tracked it on Friday at 63 and shot 66 on Saturday, but the eight-shot lead on Sunday felt almost like wind as he stepped in for the final 18 holes.
Eric Van Louen (23 under), Sam Stevens (20 under), and another Dallas native Jordan Spieth (19 under), finished behind Schaeffler.

“This tournament means a lot to me,” Schaeffler told CBS broadcast after his victory. “It's my first start as a professional. I was caddying my sister 11 years ago. …I felt like a lifelong effort and sacrifice for a few moments like this. They're pretty special.”
Schaeffler was 17 when he debuted with Byron Nelson in 2014.
This is not a big win for the world's No. 1 golfer, but also the perfect moment when the second major of the season is his next scheduled event.
The PGA Championship at Cool Hollow, North Carolina, will be when Schaeffler plays next time on the PGA Tour, and he is aiming to win the event for the first time in his career. His best finish was in 2023, when he was tied up in the second.

Last year's tournament was a saga that shocked the world of sports and was also a very adventure for Schaeffler as he was arrested at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Although he was ultimately accused, Schaeffler's experience is an experience that will be remembered forever in this major.
The world's No. 1 golfer wants to focus on lifting the trophy this time, and after this week's amazing show at home, he's ready to do so.
