Adrenaline must have been handed over to the Wanamaker's Trophy celebration. Schaeffler lifted the hardware a little awkwardly, and the trophy lid fell from above and hit the ground.
He laughed at it, like other fans who saw the ceremony happen.
Colin Morakawa made the same flaw when he won the PGA Championship in 2020.

“They said it was heavy. They didn't say the lid was off,” the golfer said Wednesday, before the tournament began via golf.com. “But it's much heavier than you might expect, and they tell you to lift it up on your head.”
Schaeffler shot the final round of 71, securing the third biggest victory of his career.

He had some rough first few holes and allowed John Rahm to enter the competition. However, he was locked up and Rahm fell from the back nine paces.
“This back nine will be something I will remember for a long time,” Schaeffler said. “It was ground there. At some point in front, I think I had a lead of maybe four or five shots.
