D-Conn. Senator Chris Murphy told Politico that President Joe Biden had no doubt cognitively declined during his time at the White House.
“There's no doubt about that,” Murphy said when the outlet asked if Biden had suffered cognitive decline while serving as president. “The debate is whether it was enough to compromise his ability to act as a CEO,” the senator said.
Fox News Digital contacted Murphy's office to request additional comment from the senators, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

In an interview last year on CNN before Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential contest, Murphy said that Biden's debate performance “slogged voters” about whether he was “still an old Joe Biden.”
In his interview, Murphy suggested that Biden “proves the country that he is still an old Joe Biden,” and that he took Biden with his words that he could still do his job.”
“I've seen him do this job on an absolutely exceptional level. In his first four years as Joe Biden, no president had this level of legislative achievement,” Murphy said.
Politico also reported that if Biden hadn't run it in 2024, Murphy would have helped Democrats.

“I mean, isn't that trivial? We lost,” he said, according to the outlet. “Obviously, looking back, we should have done something different. No matter how much possibilities were stacked up for us, but obviously people were looking for change and neither Biden nor Harris could provide a message of actual change.”
