Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter is once again at the center of controversy.
Carter was called for a flagrant foul after contact with former teammate Marlena Mabry in the first quarter of the Sky's game against the Connecticut Sun on Aug. 23. Carter was playing defense in the post when Mabry ran into the 25-year-old Sky star.
Carter then appeared to hit Marbury in the arm and then in the face while trying to block a shot.

Marbury continued to lie on the floor with his hands over his face for some time after the play. He was in obvious pain and lay face-up on the court while being treated by the training staff.
The umpires reviewed the play and upgraded the foul to Flagrant 1.

Mabrey appeared to become unhappy with her situation in Chicago at some point this season, and the team granted her trade request in July.
Video posted to social media earlier that morning showed many of Mayberry's former teammates giving him the cold shoulder during pre-game shooting practice.
Some observers said the awkward exchange indicated an underlying feud between Carter and Mayberry in particular.
WNBA great Sue Bird says Caitlin Clark is a playoff nightmare for other teams, “a nuisance to everyone else.”
Mabrey apparently criticized his former team back in July, which may have added to the tension heading into Friday's game.
“I'm excited to be on a championship team and be part of a team that can compete for a championship. It's something I'm not used to. I've never been in that environment, so I'm excited,” Mabrey told reporters during WNBA All-Star Weekend last month.
Charter already has four flagrant fouls this season.
Carter made headlines in early June when she was assessed a flagrant offense for a hard foul on Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.
Carter made a basket late in the third quarter, then she switched to defense and began guarding Clark, who was getting open to receive the inbounds pass.

Clark never made contact with the ball, however, and Carter shoulder-checked the Fever star, knocking him to the floor. Officials initially called Carter for a common foul, but the WNBA later reviewed the play and upgraded it to a Flagrant 1 violation.
Clark then stepped to the free throw line, and speaking to ESPN after the quarter, she said the incident was just part of basketball.
“Yeah, that's not a very basketball play,” Clark said, “but at this level of basketball, you've got to play through it. I thought we played really physical and we missed some bunnies around the rim, so hopefully we can nail it in the fourth quarter.”
