Partisan Sparks is expected to fly Tuesday as House Judiciary Committee lawmakers fight President Donald Trump's strict crackdown on illegal immigration.
The panel's subcommittee on oversight is holding a hearing on threats to immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) operations at 2pm Tuesday afternoon.
Last month, as tensions escalated in the incident at Delaney Hall Detention Center in New Jersey, three House Democrats and a progressive city mayor were accused of “raiding” the facility in protest of Trump's handling of illegal immigrants.

One of those Democrats, Rep. Ramonica McQuiver, has been charged with assault, but the trespass charges against Newark Mayor Las Baraka have been dropped. McQuiber called the accusation “purely political.”
Tuesday's hearing will be led by RN.J., led by Rep. Jeff Van Drew, representing Garden State's southernmost tip.
“The Trump administration is taking critical action to deal with this crisis, but Democrat leaders have made tireless efforts to block those efforts. What happened in my hometown in New Jersey is the latest example, and it's simply unacceptable,” Van Drew told Fox News Digital.
“We witnessed protests led by elected officials and became violent against ice officers who were just doing their jobs. These officials are focused on protecting violent criminals rather than ensuring the safety of their own communities.”
He said the subcommittee's investigation “discovers how sanctuary policies and anti-enforcement rhetoric put public safety at risk.”

The top Democrat on the subcommittee is Rep. Jasmine Crockett of D-Texas, a rising star on the left, known to make headlines for explosions with words that target Republicans in particular. Her office did not respond to requests for comment regarding the hearing. But D-Fla's Rep. Jared Moskowitz shows he's ready to defend Democratic officials in the middle of the Delaney Hall incident.
“If they want to do something to these three members, I think they'll get Trump's pardon, right?” Moskowitz told Fox News Digital.
D-Ga. Rep. Hank Johnson of the company said he wanted to take the time to review the witnesses' submitted testimony before talking about what he said.
Meanwhile, R-Texas Rep. Brandon Gill, who is also on the panel, said, “What we're trying to understand is why in the world, presidents succumb to hell to stop deporting murderers, rapists and terrorists.”

“I mean, they're maintaining the ice facilities and getting into them. They fought us at every stage,” Gill said.
“I think we're going to put them there and get to the bottom of it.”
Democrat officials and their allies at the heart of the Delaney Hall incident claim that they have all the rights to be on the facility as federal employees. Both sides accused others of assault and inappropriate treatment.
