Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe don't want to hear “First Take” come out of the mouths of their two ESPN colleagues.
Smith and Sharp were referring to comments made by Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler during Monday's College Football Playoff broadcast of the popular sports discussion show.
And while Smith's response was more sophisticated, Sharpe made it known that he doesn't care how much he has to go through ESPN bosses if he hears gunshots again on “First Take.” .

“I'll be a good teammate,” Sharpe told Smith. “I'm going to ignore it. Everybody's on ESPN, because if I hadn't chosen the path that you took, I would have lit their A-ES on fire. If I If we're going to be on the same team, we're going to be working on the same network, so don't do that.
“Kirk, Chris Fowler, I promise you, if you ever bring up the platform I'm on again and say, 'I'm going to say it's a negative thing,' I promise you. , ESPN doesn't have a good enough boss to do that.'' Please ignore me for what I'm going to say. ”
Herbstreit and Fowler's comments were about Ohio State Buckeyes football coach Ryan Day, and Smith criticized them for incorrectly quoting them about calling for the coach's firing.

“Stop it,” Smith said to the camera during a speech on the issue. “It's not true, 'You have to fire him on the first take.' I did it! Not on the 'first take.'” It's me, Stephen A. Don't get me wrong. What I said was, “This guy, Ryan Day, if he can't win a national championship, he should go even if he's 66-10.'' I didn't stutter a bit, and I don't stutter now. ”
Herbstreit and Fowler were calling for the Buckeyes to defeat the Tennessee Volunteers and advance to the next round of the playoffs.
While Day was leading his team to dominant wins, Herbstreit brought up a “fringe of insanity” that he felt existed at Ohio State. It was something that was ignited in Day after losing to Michigan for the fourth consecutive year in a rivalry game.

Herbstreit then moved the conversation to “First Take.”
“'First Take' tried to fire him,” Herbstreit was heard saying. “They thought he was done. So I'm looking forward to seeing what they say on Monday after this performance. They fired him. They're trying to find a replacement. But here he is. He's still wearing the hat.'' He's still coaching. ”
At the time, Herbstreit's comments were interesting, to say the least, considering he was talking about a show within his own network.

But like others who have called them out in the past, Smith and Sharpe were quick to respond, even if it meant calling attention to their own colleagues.
