Joe Burrow fell to 0-3 for the first time in his career.
The Cincinnati Bengals, once again the heavy favorites with the No. 1 overall pick in 2020, suffered another heartbreaking defeat on Monday night.
They lost to the New England Patriots in Week 1, dashing many of their hopes of making the cut, and then lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, but that's not something to be criticized for.

But the Bengals once again found themselves fighting for survival, losing 38-33 at home to the Washington Commanders, led by rookie quarterback and fellow Louisiana State University Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.
Burrow went to the Super Bowl in his second year in the NFL and returned to the AFC Finals the following year, but the Bengals missed the playoffs last year after suffering a season-ending injury.
But following the Bengals' disastrous start to the year, the former NFL player turned TV personality says Burrow is running out of “excuses.”
“If a quarterback has a chance to win games, he's got to win games. But Joe Burrow didn't do that. Jayden Daniels did that,” former defensive lineman Chris Canty said on ESPN Radio Tuesday morning.
“I'm tired of all the excuses for Joe Burrow. 'Oh, the defense let Joe Burrow down.' No, Joe Burrow let Joe Burrow down. Joe Burrow let the offense down. Joe Burrow let the team down.”

NFL legend Brett Favre announces he has Parkinson's disease
“'Great performance, oh wow, all touchdowns and no interceptions.' But what did you do when the game was in the balance? What did you do when the game wasn't going anywhere? You know the answer? It's not good enough. You know why I know it's not good enough? Because it's winless and we're heading into Week 4.”
Burrow completed 29 of 38 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns in the first game without a punt or a turnover since 1940. The Bengals allowed touchdowns on five of Washington's six drives (not including one that ended with a kneel), but Cincinnati failed to reach the end zone on three of its seven drives (two field goals, one no-go).
The Bengals scored three consecutive touchdowns in the second half, but Washington's solid offense down the stretch and ability to hold the ball late prevented the Bengals from doing any further damage.

Fortunately for Cincinnati, they will be facing the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, but they are on a roll coming off their first win of the season since Andy Dalton took over as head coach from Bryce Young.
