WNBA phenom Caitlin Clark said in an interview with Time magazine that Taylor Swift invited her to watch a Kansas City Chiefs game.
The publication reported on his interactions with Swift in recent months and named Clark its “Athlete of the Year.” Clark said he met Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in person after attending two shows on the singer's Ellas tour.
“People are crazy about me being there,” Clark said. “I thought people were going to be in their own world and want to meet Taylor. And it was quite the opposite.”

Swift's invitation to a Chiefs game will give Clark the chance to watch his favorite team, featuring his favorite music artist. Clark has previously said Swift is his favorite artist and welcomed Swift into the Chiefs fan base when their relationship became public in September 2023.
The invitation also comes in a year in which Swift has noticeably distanced herself from Kelce's teammate, Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, compared to last season.

Swift stood or sat next to Brittany in the same suite for almost every game last year. But Swift has only appeared in two games with Mahomes this year, against the Saints on Oct. 7 and against the Buccaneers on Nov. 4.
The two made headlines by sitting in separate suites during the Chiefs' first game against the Ravens to open the season. The pair sat apart after Brittany faced backlash for publicly liking Donald Trump's posts on Instagram. Swift's fan groups on social media were partly responsible for spreading screenshots of Brittany that resembled Trump's posts.

Trump even weighed in on the controversy after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris in the September 10 presidential election. In an interview on “Fox & Friends” the next day, Trump said he “much more” liked Brittany than Swift.
After President Trump posted a post on Truth Social that read, “I hate Taylor Swift!”, many of her fans called on Mahomes to completely disavow his support for President Trump.

But Mahomes never did that. She just keeps going to Chiefs games, sometimes sitting next to Swift, and at a Nov. 17 game against the Buffalo Bills, model Paige Buechele, the wife of Chiefs backup quarterback Shane Buechell. or sitting with someone else, including
Clark refused to endorse any political candidates before the recent election, but she did “like” an Instagram post that Swift used to endorse Harris. Clark advocated for athletes to encourage fans to vote when asked similar questions.
Clark was previously featured next to Swift on the cover of Time magazine's recent “Inspiring Women” special issue, which featured eight women in leadership positions, including multiple athletes.
