The Chicago Bears weren't necessarily spoilers when they faced the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, but they still had a lot to play for as they looked to finish the season on a high note. Ta.
That's exactly what happened, thanks to Cairo Santos' 51-yard field goal to beat the Packers 24-22, ending Chicago's losing streak at 10 and ending the season at 5-12.
It was also the historic kick Santos made as the Bears finally defeated their NFC North foe and ended their losing streak against the Packers at 11.

The winning shot came after the Packers' Brandon McManus made a 55-yard field goal with 54 seconds left in the game to give Green Bay a 22-21 lead.
Caleb Williams and the Bears' offense knew they had one more timeout left, and they needed decent yards to get Santos within range to avoid it. The drive didn't start well as Williams was sacked, but a costly penalty changed everything.
A horse-collar tackle was called, leading to a 15-yard swing that forced Chicago to its own 35-yard line instead of back to its own 13. On the next play, Williams connected with fellow rookie Roman Odunze, putting the Bears in midfield. Play time is 40 seconds.

Later, on a third-and-6 from Green Bay's own 46-yard line, Williams found DJ Moore for a 12-yard gain, but the Bears made an illegal shift to negate a gain that would have given Santos enough yards. was called.
So, on third-and-11 with 15 seconds left and no timeouts left, Williams stepped back and found Moore in the middle of the field for an 18-yard gain. Chicago ran to the line of scrimmage with two seconds left and spiked the ball, giving Santos a chance for the win.

And while the Packers were already in the playoffs, this loss, combined with the Washington Commanders' own winning push, dropped Green Bay to the NFC's No. 7 seed. Instead of going to Los Angeles to play the No. 3 Rams, they have to go to Philadelphia to play the No. 2 Eagles.
In the box score, Williams was 21-of-29 for 148 yards and a touchdown pass to Moore, who had nine catches for 86 yards. D'Andre Swift also found the end zone on 1 of his 20 rushes for 65 yards.
Chicago also scored a 94-yard punt for the first touchdown of the game after Josh Blackwell ran back a 94-yard punt that the Bears' second punt returner would catch. He ran back a punt and produced one of the best trick plays in the league this season.

Jordan Love originally started this game for the Packers, but was sidelined as a precaution due to a so-called elbow injury. Malik Willis took over and completed 10 of 13 for 136 yards. Josh Jacobs found the end zone for Green Bay again this season.
