The Dodgers in Los Angeles are World Series champions and meant they have the opportunity to visit President Donald Trump at the White House.
But a recent story from The Los Angeles Times told readers, “Don't put a bet on that.”
The Times skipped Mookie Betts on his 2019 visit with the Boston Red Sox, leaving him open about issues of social justice, mentioning the past critical of the president by the other former Dodgers and co-owners Magic Johnson and Billy Junking.

Los Angeles joined DC early in the season, with a three-game series from April 7th to 9th. This could be when the Dodgers pay for their visit. (They will also visit the nearby Baltimore Orioles in early September.)
However, the Times said the team visiting 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue “it's hard to imagine.”
“Overall, it's hard to imagine the Dodgers agreeing to a photo shoot for celebrations with the president. Los Angeles is not just Dodger Blue, but Democrats blue,” the story read. “The president lost LA County by 33% points. In a feud with California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Trump threatened to withhold fire disaster funds without concessions.
“The Dodgers, the world champion, should be adjacent to the president, not next to the president. When the overture comes from the White House, you can send a friendly note: Thank you, but no.”

The Philadelphia Eagles will visit the White House on April 28th amid the Super Bowl Lix victory, as in 2018, despite prior rumors that they will skip. The Florida Panthers recently visited the president last summer to celebrate their Stanley Cup victory.
The final professional championship team to be appointed during his first presidency was the Washingtonian in 2019 five days after the World Series victory over the Houston Astros (despite the criticism of Shawn Doolittle's President). The pandemic made visits tougher in 2020, and by the time restrictions were lifted, Biden was in office.
The UConn Men's and the LSU women's team visited Biden last year. The former president was criticized last year for not originally inviting the University of Georgia football team, and after receiving the invitation, the Bulldogs didn't go. They also did not travel the previous year due to Covid-19 safety precautions.

Both the Las Vegas ace and the Boston Celtics were WNBA and NBA champions, respectively, and visited Biden before taking office. The Denver Nuggets, a former NBA champion, specifically cited their quest to cancel their visit last year and earn the No. 1 seed at the Western Conference. (They got their second seed after the tiebreaker.)
