For over a decade, Julian Edelman coached Bill Belichick. However, in recent weeks, the achievements of the former New England Patriots coach during his celebratory football career have largely won the backseat in his romance with Jordon Hudson.
Belichick's 24-year-old girlfriend, Hudson, was accused of trying to insist on her control during the former NFL coach's sit-in on “CBS News Sunday Morning.” The interview was part of a promotional tour for Belichick's new book, The Art of Winning: My Life in Football.
In Fallout, Edelman encourages his former coach to return to his nonsense football first persona.

“The first thing I've always talked about in New England was distraction. 'Don't be distracted. The game is already difficult. To prepare for it, play, coach.' And regardless of what her role was, Jordon, yeah, I thought he had an unfair public opinion about the whole thing. Because Edelman said during the recent appearance of “The Herd with Colin Cowhard.”
Bill Belichick reportedly will explore the PR move following a nasty TV interview
Edelman spent his entire NFL career with the Patriots, winning three Super Bowls along the way. He suffered a preseason ACL injury in 2017 ahead of New England's run to Super Bowl LII. The game produced the Eagles' infamous “Philly Special” trick play.
Edelman claims that ongoing drama creates a snowman effect, and believes that it will ultimately lead to distractions.

“Whenever we do this behind the scenes, you have someone to represent you, they're going to jump in. But now it's been acquired and it's snowing on what it's now. Three weeks later we're talking about it. It's a distraction.
Cowherd suggested that he wanted to take a more measured tone and not be given a judgement.
“They both benefited this, she was professionally and he somewhat professionally. So I don't want to judge this much,” Cowherd warned.
Although Edelman appeared to agree with Cowhard's approach, he also highlighted the period in which Belichick's personal life remains the focus.
“I'm not, either, but we were talking again three weeks later… It's in this, that's it,” Edelman said. “We're reaching the point where we have to start worrying about ACC (and Clemson coach) Dabo Swinney. We shouldn't talk about our girlfriends. That's how coaches say to us.
“When it comes to running a soccer organization and playing soccer, let's make the main thing the main thing.”

In a recent edition of the “Dudes on Dudes” podcast, Edelman argued that many of the people who analyzed Belichick's situation lacked a proper perspective.
“People are giving an unfair reality about what's going on,” the retired NFL wide receiver said. “Because during the interview she was jumping into that conversation during the interview, just like the PR people jumping in.

The viral interview was not the first time Hudson's obvious involvement in Belichick's career had faced headwinds. Critics lost the opportunity to be featured on HBO's “Hard Knocks” for her reported involvement in North Carolina. According to Athletic, Hudson had a “instrumental role” in pulling the plug of HBO's potential production of a focused docusary.
The report also noted that Hudson asked him to be “very involved in the project.”
Belichick, 73, has been published as Hudson since 2023. In a statement released after the CBS interview, Belichick said he met Hudson on his 2021 flight.
