President Donald Trump's newly established Title IX investigation team is sought in Washington.
Department of Education (DOE) Director Linda McMahon announced Wednesday that the team will begin an investigation into the office of Washington's public leader, Chris Lakedal.
The team, a joint initiative by the DOE and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), is taking action in response to Lakedal, which requires schools to allow biologically male trans-athletes for women's sports teams.
“Several school districts in Washington report that they are requesting the school board of education to adopt a policy that allows Ospi to participate in women's sports and occupy intimate facilities exclusively for women.

McMahon has warned Lakedal and other Democrat-controlled nations.
“It appears that Washington state is using its authority position to hide 'gender identity' information from student parents, secretly smuggle gender ideology into the classroom, confuse students, and adopt policies to smuggle boys into girls' sports, bathrooms and locker rooms,” McMahon said.
“If so, these are clear violations of parental rights and women's equality in athletics, protected by federal law enforced by the Trump administration.”
Reykdal provided a statement to Fox News Digital, noting that his office would cooperate with the federal investigation.
“My job as a leader in this Constitutional Bureau is to communicate, support and enforce the law,” Lakedal said. “My office will enforce current laws because they will need to be done until Congress changes the law. And/or federal courts will override the laws of Washington. Unless that happens, we will comply with Washington laws, not the political trends of the president expressed through illegal orders.”
Lakedal defended transgender athletes in women's sports in a speech on February 20, claiming that it was “inaccurate” to say they only have two genders.
“Biologically, it's very inaccurate to say that there are only boys and only girls,” Lakedal said on camera. “There's a continuum. There's a science. I have an intersex-born child. I have a child whose hormones and chromosomes do not match my birth gender.”
State education officers say it's “inaccurate” to say that there are only two genders to protect trans athletes
High school athletes in Washington are permitted to compete on the basis of gender identity rather than biological sex. The Washington Scholastic Activities Association (WIAA) policy states that each athlete will participate in a program that “matches gender identity or the most consistently expressed gender” with no medical or legal requirements.
A bill has been introduced that prohibits transgender girls from participating in sports for girls and women, but has not passed.
The Kennewick Education Board filed a Title IX complaint with the DOE Civil Rights Office against Rekdal's office in late March.
The president of Kennewick School Board Gabe Galbraith previously told Fox News that the district is seeking federal intervention to ensure that the order is ultimately respected.
The school board appeals to Trump administrators to enforce a state ban on transgender women's sports as Democrats refuse
“We have boys who are participating in girls' sports. We have boys in girls' locker rooms. That's unfair. It's not safe. We're asking the federal government to put an end to this and ensure that the state is following President Trump's statement,” he said.
Other school districts have risen to Lakedal since President Trump signed Executive Order 5, “Exclude men from women's sports.”
The Tumwater School District board voted later that month to ban the Trans Girls from playing women's sports teams. The resolution passed by a 3-1 vote after a civil rights complaint was filed against the district in a case involving a trans athlete at a girl's basketball game.
The complaint alleges that Washington's Tanwater School District is investigating 15-year-old Francis Stoud for “mistakes” the other party and violating the district's policies against bullying and harassment.

According to the document, Staudt asked the school's principal and athletic director before the game whether the player was a biological male. The administrator then confirmed that the player was notified that he was transgender, but pleaded to remove the player.
However, DOE OCR announced a survey of the Tumwater School District a few days later.
Now, the Trump administration has raised the state's chain of command even further, aiming to be a manager.
In addition to reports that Washington schools are allowing trans-athletes in girls' sports, the DOE announced Wednesday that the LA Center School District at LA Center, Washington, had received a letter of discovery Wednesday that suggests Lakedall is requesting parents not to notify them of changes to their children's “gender identity.”
