Trey Hendrickson has spent the past four NFL seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. Starpass Rush has only had one year left in the contract with Bengal and recently sought permission to seek trade.
Despite trade demands, Hendrickson hopes to remain in Cincinnati.
“But it's shaking, but I'm rather somewhere,” he said in early March.
During the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, the Bengals Duke Tobin director proposed that the team and Hendrickson agents were advancing new contracts for the star defensive end.

However, recent comments at the league's annual meeting of Bengals Executive Vice President Katie Blackburn, did not give Tobin's comments any credibility. Blackburn's words have prompted an annoyed Hendrickson to call on the organization due to the obvious lack of communication in recent months.
“That was a bit disappointing as communication has been poor over the past few months,” Hendrickson told the Pat McAfee Show in connection with Blackburn's remarks.

“That's something I appreciate. They're not communicating directly with my agents. It was a bit frustrating.”

Hendrickson added that his talk with Bengal was primarily “around the place.”
Hendrickson has finished each of the last two seasons with 17½ bags. Compared to his counterpart, his estimated fund for next season is just over $15 million. Miles Garrett agreed to a record-breaking contract extension with the Cleveland Browns earlier this offseason. The transaction pays Garrett about $40 million a year.
Las Vegas Raiders Pass Rusher Maxx Crosby inks the three-year extension last month, earning an estimated $35.5 million per season.

“I think he (Hendrickson) should be happy at a certain rate that he might not think will be happy,” Blackburn said Tuesday. “I think he's there when he's happy at some point. If he's not, it's something that holds it sometimes. So he has to say yes to something. And he has all the respect for him. He's been a great player.
Despite the latest turn of the event, Hendrickson said the “line of communication” remains open to his end.
“They are welcome to call me,” Hendrickson said. “I was on my mobile phone and I had the same mobile number since high school. The open communication line is always open with me and my agents. So if there's anything they want to discuss, we want to listen.”

Hendrickson revealed he is looking for a long-term contract rather than a short-term deal.
“We don't have a desire to be the best wage. “I'm not going to get into every detail, but there are things I'm not willing to try and try. I don't want to play for the incentives that get me out of control. I don't want to have a short-term contract (at A)…. I want to tell my wife. Do you know?”
