The Long Islanders are seeking the help of President Donald Trump, and it appears they're getting it.
Masa Pegua High School's nickname is Chief, but New York state law says schools must remove logos related to Indigenous peoples by the end of the year.
The Massapequa School District sued the state, but a federal judge ruled against the district.

Now, Trump won the issue and posted to a true society where potential name changes are “silly.”
“I agree with the people of Massapequa on Long Island. Long Island is fighting fiercely to maintain the Massapequa Chiefs logo for the team and school,” Trump wrote. “After all these years, changing their names is ridiculous and in fact they are humiliated by our great Indian population. The Board of Education, and virtually everyone in the region, is asking for names. It ended up retaining the identity of the school. McMahon, fight for the people of Massapequa on this very important issue.

Washington failed to pass on a proposal that would limit competition from a biological girl
“Changing names doesn't have a positive effect on our kids. This is their identity, this is who they are – they are the chief,” Kelly Wachter, president of the Massapequa School Board, told The New York Post last week.
Wachter also said the district has issued an SOS to the Ministry of Education.
Nassau County executive Bruce Blakeman appeared on Fox & Friends earlier this month, torn up New York Gov. Kathy Hokle.
“She must have a bad idea in her head. When she thinks about the Chief, she thinks about the leader,” Blakeman said. “When I think of warriors, I think of courageous people… We celebrate and celebrate our Native American heritage here on Long Island.”
The district sued the state in September, saying the committee violated its First Amendment rights by banning school officials and officers from wearing “Chiefs” products at school property and other events.
The district says the rebranding costs the district about $1 million and its identity.
