President Donald Trump's newly issued statement on drug policy priorities shows that his administration has embraced Make America Healthy Movement as it tackles addiction, the top public health crisis in America. The next step is to re-expand the White House National Drug Management Policy (ONDCP) and promote the American anti-drug movement to its deserve excellence.
Despite the media-covered title “Drug Emperor,” leading the American drug policy has been relegated to the backdrop of the nation's battle against illegal substances for years. The office is representing the president on drug policy and is to statutory control of the federal drug policy budget that spreads across multiple agencies.
But unfortunately, in a world of high emotion, big ego, congressional subcommittees, voice interest groups, and competing issues, Americans have not seen or heard much from our drug czar for decades. If used correctly, it could reduce the suffering that is the result of US drug addiction. With nearly 100,000 people dying from overdose per year, more deadly drugs appearing across borders, and targeting youth as lifelong customers, the for-profit industry is regaining the relevance of ONDCP.

Here are four things you should do to revitalize your office right now.

1. Media and PR campaign
ONDCP must use megaphones to indicate that drug use is taking place in the country's communities. Talking to families, law enforcement, educators and healthcare professionals will put your face on statistics of people who have been transformed forever by the drug crisis. In this country, we need a new anti-drug message, and it is now necessary.
Science-based media campaigns, particularly targeting youth, are needed to offset the harms of extreme drug normalization policies, such as the legalization of marijuana that decriminalized all drugs and Oregon's short-lived measurements 110. As the Ministry of Education plummets, the ONDCP should coordinate school-based prevention programs to ensure that all students learn about the dangers inherent in today's drug landscape, rejection skills and healthy coping strategies.
2. Recommendations for coordinated strategies
The ONDCP must use the full power of the office to lead the “drug cabinet” convened by Trump to promote the implementation of coordinated national drug policies.

In the spirit of Doge, the ONDCP must require that agencies provide details on how they meet the directives set out in the country's annual national drug management strategy. Departments, initiatives, and yes, budgets should be judged on how they meet their statutory mission and the outcomes they are achieving. The ONDCP serves as an important hub for interagency coordination, ensuring that different agencies work together to avoid overlapping gaps between effort and action.
3. Clarity about drugs in the Maga and Maha Agenda
With today's medical and scientific evidence clearly demonstrating the harms of drug use, it is becoming increasingly clear that it is not a good thing to make America healthy again and think more and more drugs are good in the community.
The addiction industry and international drug cartels continue to create stronger, industrialized drugs, causing the public health crisis. Many of these drugs, including marijuana and THC infusions, have been medically proven to cause loss of IQ, psychosis, schizophrenia, depression, suicide, and of course addiction.
4. Returns ONDCP to Cabinet Status
The directors of the ONDCP were members of the presidential cabinet in the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations. Re-paying this position will underscore the Trump administration's dedication to dealing with the national drug crisis, and respond to a call from 55% of Americans who believe that reducing the availability of illegal drugs is a top priority for President Trump and Congress, according to a 2024 Pew poll.

Most Americans are familiar with the role and success of Border Emperor Tom Homan. Similarly, increasing the position will restore considerable authority to the ONDCP team, opposing radical policies such as news coverage, successful advertising, and so-called “safe use” spaces, providing offset to the stable flow of pro-drug messages arising from the addiction industry and celebrity culture.
Through the ONDCP, President Trump can use the power of the presidency to make a lasting impact on the lives of millions of Americans. Office budget monitoring, the increasingly calm science of drug use today, and the skillful use of bully pulpits can reduce drug policy and the genocide it brings. Make ONDCP great again. The country needs it – now.
