President Donald Trump told journalists while speaking to the media on Sunday that he was “not happy” with Russia's recent massive strike against Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey, Trump accused Putin of “killing many people” in the attack launched Sunday afternoon.

“I'm not happy with what Putin is doing,” Trump explained. “He's killing a lot of people. I don't know what happened to Putin.”

“I've known him for a long time, and I've always been with him, but he sends rockets to the city and kills people.

Trump said Putin “fired rockets into Kiev and other cities” during negotiations.

“I don't like what Putin is doing, not even a bit,” the president emphasized. “He's killing people. And something happened to this guy.”

Trump's comments came after Russian troops fired hundreds of drones and missiles overnight in Ukrainian cities. The attack, which has been called the biggest air attack of the war to date, has targeted Kiev, the capital of Ukrainians.

Ukrainian officials said at least 12 people were killed and dozens more were injured.

Though past strikes have proven to be more deadly, attacks are the biggest air attacks of the war in terms of weapons count. 298 drones and 69 missiles have been released.

In a Telegram post, Ukrainian President Volodimia Zelenki called for an international response to the attack.

“The silence of America, the silence of others in the world only encourages Putin,” he wrote in the telegram. “All Russian strikes of such terrorists are reason enough for new sanctions against Russia.”

Trump expanded his comments later on Sunday, writing about the true social society that Putin “absolutely crazy.” Zelensky also criticized.

“I've always said that (Putin) doesn't just want everything about Ukraine, but it's not only that, but it proves it's right, but if that's the case, it's going to lead to the downfall of Russia!” a social media post has been read. “Similarly, President Zelensky doesn't like his country by speaking like him.

“This is a war that would never have started if I were president. It's not 'Trump', it's the war between Zelensky, Putin and Biden, and I'm just helping to put out the big, ugly fire that began through great incompetence and hatred,” Trump concluded.

Brookkurt and Kyle Schmidbauer from Reuters and Fox News Digital contributed to this report.
