President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday, expanding access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other fertility treatments through reduced out-of-pocket costs.
IVF has become unruly for many Americans, and Trump's executive order has directed the National Policy Council to find ways to make IVF and other fertility treatments more affordable.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt posted about the order shortly after it was signed.
“A promise was made. I kept it: President Trump has signed an executive order to expand access to the IVF!” she wrote to X. “This order directs policy recommendations to protect IVF access and actively reduce out-of-pocket and health planning costs for such treatment.”

R-Ala. Senator Katie Britt of the film thanked X after learning that the president had expanded access to the IVF.
“Thanks @potus! And yet another promise continued,” Britt wrote. “IVF is a very parent family and we are proud to work with President Trump to ensure that more loving parents start and grow their families.”

On the campaign trail, Trump pledged to require free in vitro fertilization treatments for women if he wins a second term.
“I am making today in a major statement under the Trump administration that your government will pay all costs related to IVF treatment — or your insurance company will be required to pay,” Trump said. Speaking to the crowd at Alro Steel in Potterville, Michigan, back in August. “We want more babies so to put it in good condition.”

IVF treatments are highly expensive and can cost tens of thousands of dollars per round. Many women need multiple rounds and there is no guarantee of success.
Trump's announcement, lacking details, is Roev. It came after facing intense scrutiny from Democrats about his role in appointing a Supreme Court judge who overturned Wade and sent back the issue of abortion to the United States.

Trump is trying to present himself as a moderate on the issue, declaring that he is “very strong in the right to reproductive women.”
