“I think Connor is here to meet the president. He will meet him this afternoon. We couldn't think of a better guest to be with us on St. Patrick's Day,” she said.
During his brief appearance, McGregor raised several issues regarding the current political state of his hometown of Ireland, criticising the government for what he called “zero accountability.”
“I am here to raise the issues that Irish people face, and it will be music for Irish ears.

UFC star Conor McGregor is “very optimistic” ahead of Trump's presidency
“Our government has long abandoned the voices of the Irish people. It's time for America to recognize what's going on in Ireland. What's going on in Ireland is a tragedy. Our government is zero action and zero accountability.”
McGregor has previously criticized the Irish government. In September, he teased the president's potential run in Ireland, calling himself “the only logical choice.”
“As president, I have the power to not only disband it, but to summon the Dile,” he wrote in a post in X, referring to the Irish Parliament branch. “So, like I said before, I'd have these thieves of the guys in Ireland, these destroyers of the family units, these destroyers of these small businesses, and all the answers I've been asking for again and again!”

“The Irish people deserve the answer they seek. Point blank. This is my strength as president. I know very well. Ireland needs an active president who is fully employed by the Irish people. That's me. I am the only logical choice.
McGregor's visit comes a week after Ireland's Prime Minister Mishal Martin met with Trump in his oval office.
