Tim Walz may be campaigning, but he remains close to one of the loves of his life.
The Minnesota governor's football career is well documented. Long before he entered politics, he was a teacher at Mankato West High School and an assistant coach for the school's football team.
Earlier this month, I attended the Michigan vs. Minnesota game in Ann Arbor.

The game didn't go smoothly for him, but his Minnesota Vikings are 5-0, and he says it's “exciting.”
Kamala Harris' vice presidential nominee also had high praise for the team's head coach, Kevin O'Connell, calling him a “true professional” who “created a culture that was great to watch.”
“When you're with this guy (O'Connell), you feel like this guy can do anything. He can launch a space shuttle, that kind of thing. He feels very competent in every little thing,” Waltz said. he said. He spoke on Friday's “Rich Eisen Show.”
“There's no better guy than that guy over there. Sometimes when you meet guys like that, you know if they're really in the moment. That's him.”

Walz, who was campaigning in the Midwest, said he was in Green Bay on Monday and decided to take advantage of the opportunity to stop by.
“Monday was my first time going to Lambeau,” he said. “We were in Green Bay for an event and we had some time to spare, so I said, we have to go over there. You know, we walked in the door and… There's a big Lombardi Trophy. They said our states have a lot in common, but we don't have that in common.”
However, he acknowledged that his security team had concerns.
“It was pretty tough. My team was worried. They said, 'Please stop coming into Lambeau and calling all kinds of names.' I said, 'Go to church. Don't swear. I won't go to Rimbaud and say bad things. It's a religious pilgrimage.” It was amazing. ”
