“Hello. I'm Dennis Villeneuve. I'm the director of “Dune, Part 2.” (Tensty Music) “So this scene happens after the introduction of Fade Lauta, where we considered him a psychopath. And here we bring this character into his political environment. There it becomes a strange birthday celebration. There, in the Harkonen culture, the prince must fight slaves to prove himself in front of the audience. And the entire scene is great It is designed as a dance between Austin Butler and the crowd played by Faydrauta. Austin created a cross-mix between Olympic sword fighter, serial killer, and Mick Jagger. He is part of the It brought a tremendous sex appeal to Fade Lauta, one of the most iconic characters in “The Dunes,” and Austin had big shoes to fill. And I'm extremely proud of what he brought to the screen. One aspect I like about Frank Herbert's “Dune” is that the book is also a study of the impact of the environment on humans. How nature shapes human spirit, behavior, culture, technology, politics, et cetera. Do you want to know about Freeman? You look at the desert. However, for Harkonen, it has completely destroyed the natural world, so it needs a little more attention. And I was looking for environmental tips, ideas, and clues. And what would I think if their sunlight had subtracted the colours rather than revealing them? What would happen if they were from a black and white world? It would give us some ideas from where its binary, fascist, cruel behavior comes from. My cinematographer, Graig Fraser and I were brainstorming ways to bring black and white alien sunlight to our screens, so Graig had the idea of testing infrared. Infrared is the light wavelength that is usually blocked by the camera, as it is considered noise. Then I changed the camera so that only that wavelength blocks and blocks other colors. And it created the creepy, strange, alien, nightmare atmosphere I had dreamed of Giedi Prime. “Happy birthday, dear ne.” (cheer) “We can almost see through our skin. Our eyes become as sharp as insects. And the problem with that technique is that there is no way to go back. This is how it was filmed. It is not an effect that was done in the mail. And these scenes never appear in color. “Why don't they stop the fight?” “Plans within the plan ” (dramatic music) (non-English song): “Show me who you are.” “Now again, this scene is a game between the barons who put his nephew Fade under tremendous pressure, so he is pushed in front of the crowd to prove his courage. And I kept the scene very intimate around the fade, and kept the crowd in the background, like Paul's desert-like landscape. Pressure pushes him forward and feels the effects of that pressure in an intimate way. I came up with these picador designs. They are very scary characters in the book. And I'm one of our nightmares or something. It was like that, and it seemed to have come. Again, what is joy for Harkonen, what is a sport for them, how cruel they are. , please give me some ideas about how cruel they are. And here is the moment I absolutely love. There, Fade feels that he is not afraid of pain. He is in pain. I love him. He loves to bleed and is on the edge between life and death. It's someone who only has – You are a brave and good fighter who respects only one thing. And the slave who proved his skills proved that he has gained the respect of Fade. That's what he first said to him That's why he didn't kill him. He played with him like a cat and a mouse. It's a scene in a way that is very close to what is described in the book. And that's what I see whenever I see it I am extremely proud of the insane Hans Zimmer scores and the great work of sound designing to bring that crowd back to life. “He is truly impressive.” (Chan of the crowd. chant)
