Earlier this year, Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) discovered $4.7 trillion in untraceable Treasury payments.
Prior to the discovery, the Treasury's Treasury payments were optional at $4.7 trillion, and the Treasury identification code was often left blank and could not be tracked. The sector needs to increase “insights into where money is actually heading,” announced by the Treasury Ministry and Doge in February.
“Of the 1.5 billion payments we send each year, they need to have TAS, financial account symbols. We found that a third of these payments do not have TAS numbers,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent, head of the House Approximately Expenses Sales for Financial Services and the General Government.
Fox News Digital has called on Republican senators at Capitol Hill to accommodate approximately half a million payments with untraceable payments made by the Treasury every year.

“Unfortunately, I'm not surprised at all,” Sen. R-Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall said, “This is a common theme, as they left the complete field revocation when they were filling their finances. It's not surprising.”
As discovered by Elon Musk's Doge, the top 5 most outrageous ways the government has wasted your tax money
R-Missouri Sen. Eric Schmidt asked to investigate where these payments actually went.
“There's so much waste. There's so much fraud. There's so much abuse in the government,” Schmidt told Fox News Digital. “I'm pleased that there was a laser-like focus. Many of these reforms need to be permanent, but there should probably be some research here about where this money actually went. This means it's taxpayer money.

After Doge and the Treasury discovered $4.7 trillion in untraceable funds, Florida's Marshall and Sen. Rick Scott introduced a bill in March requiring the Treasury to track all payments.
The arrangement of all payments under the Government Expenditure Records (Ledger) Act aims to increase transparency in how the Treasury spends taxpayer money.
“When I hear about this story about not knowing where the money was heading, it makes you mad because this is someone else's money. This is taxpayer money when we have nearly $37 trillion in debt.

“We paid more debt last year on our $36 trillion debt. We have $900 billion in interest to bondholders around the world, including China. $950 billion did not build bridges or F-35s.
“That's when most countries hit, when you look at history, that's when the great powers start to fade, so we have to get those savings.”
