The Trump White House released a video on Friday marking the end of time Elon Musk working with the administration. The billionaire has been heading the newly formed Bureau of Government Efficiency (DOGE) since January.
The video, posted to multiple social media platforms, is a highlight reel, when Musk rose to support President Donald Trump in July 2024, shortly after the then Candy Dating was almost assassinated, and went up to his last day in DC.

The White House reveals who will lead Doge's efforts after Mask's departure
In addition to the video, the White House has published several posts about X. Thank you Musk for his services, including the “Doge Wins” list. This saved US taxpayers $170 billion, cancelled active US government credit cards/accounts revealed in audits, and cleaned records within Social Security Administration.
At a joint press conference on Friday, Trump awarded Musk the “Keys to the White House.” The White House quoted the president as saying, “Elon has made a huge difference in the old ways of doing business in Washington… Elon Musk's service to America has not been compared to modern history.”

What will be next for Doge after Elon Musk's departure? “Just starting”
Another Republican leader joined Trump in acknowledging the changes Musk worked to implement in Washington.
House Speaker Mike Johnson thanked Musk for his “selfless and patriotic service,” praised both billionaires and Doges, saying that he “digged the bureaucracy and shed light on massive waste, fraud and abuse.”
“They save billions of dollars on Americans and update old and inefficient systems across the federal government. They're all providing Republicans with a list of targets for meaningless programs that Congressional actions address.”

While some have wondered about Doge's future, the Trump administration has insisted that the department is not at the helm. The Tesla founder addressed the question in the same way that Trump took office for 100 days. He told a small group of reporters, “Doji is a Buddhist way of life. Who wouldn't ask to guide Buddhism. Buddhism needs Buddha.”
A few days before his White House tenure ended, Musk vowed in X's post that he would “go back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in a meeting/server/factory room.” But Trump teased, “It wasn't really because he was always with us and he's been helping us all the time,” even if it was Musk's last day.
