WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque pulled back the curtains with the idea that John Cena would at least become the bad guy for the start of a farewell tour from the company.
Cena sided with Dwayne “Rock” Johnson in the elimination chamber and took part in Cody Rhodes' beatdown after winning the match to punch a ticket to WrestleMania 41. It was a shocking moment that left fans of professional wrestling and sports fans in general.

Known as Triple H during his in-ring career at WWE, Levesque appeared in “high performance” and spoke about his decision to turn the Cinnaheel. Levesque recalls wrestling cinna in the late 2000s, and growing fans are bored with the good gimmicks of his “hustle, loyalty, respect.”
When Cena announced the final run, Levesque stated that while she could do something simple, she decided to make the idea of completely changing Cena's character a toy.
“In my mind… what's safe is a year tour where you go to town, he makes his biggest hit, it's safe, it's easy, it's fun. But as a performer, it's like you're experiencing movements.” “You're playing the same concerts you've performed millions of times. People love it, but I've seen it. It's great, it's all, it's safe, it's easy, everything.
“But what would happen if I went to John and pulled a lever that no one wanted to pull?

Levesque said he looked into what exactly happened in the elimination chamber in March. Rhodes is asked to sell his soul to the rock, and is with his fans, and appears to be blessed by Cena. Then Cena kicks him with the gro diameter.
“The bad guys must be justified with 'why'. That should make sense.
“So, in John's mind, over 20 years, I did everything the right way, but you said to me suck, you booed me, I'm super Senna, I can't wrestling, I have five moves, I'm this, I'm like he overcame for 25 years, you can get away with it now. Do this, I might not be fast. I might not be that strong. It makes sense for the character.
Levesque told him that Cena didn't think it was where he went for the last Harley, but he said, “I love it.”
He added that Cena stood up for the challenge of making the crowd hate him.
Cena received an incredible amount of boos as she appeared on “Mondading Night Raw” several times while the company was in Europe. He denounced fans for creating who he is now, vowed to “smash wrestling” and won his record-breaking 17th championship.
